Amcan Dolen Cymru yw hyrwyddo cysylltiadau o bob math rhwng Cymru a Lesotho yn neheubarth Affrica er mwyn hybu gwybodaeth, dealltwriaeth a chyfeillgarwch rhwng y naill a’r llall. Mae Dolen o’r fath yn foddion i bobloedd o gefndiroedd gwahanol iawn i’w gilydd ddod i werthfawrogi nodweddion, problemau a dyheadau ei gilydd. |
The Wales Lesotho Link) promotes a unique link between Wales and Lesotho in southern Africa. Its purpose is to build a relationship between the two national communities. It enables people in Wales to identify with, and get to know well, one particular country in the developing world. |
Rydym yn gweithio yn uniongyrchol a’n partner fudiad yn Lesotho (‘The Lesotho Wales Link’) i hybu gweithgareddau sy’n cysylltu mudiadau, ysgolion, pentrefi, rhanbarthau, eglwysi yn y ddwy wlad. Fel Elusen Gofrestredig mae Dolen Cymru yn gweithredu fel catalydd, yn cyd-drefnu a chynghori gwahanol gynlluniau yn ol yr angen. |
Working directly with our partner organisation in Lesotho (the Lesotho Wales Link) we promote activities that link organisations, schools, villages, districts, churches in both countries. As a Registered Charity, Dolen Cymru acts as adviser, co-ordinator and catalyst for the different link initiatives. |
Pwysleisiwn nad mudiad cymorth i Lesotho yw Dolen Cymru, gan y credwn fod deall yn greiddiol rhwng dwy wlad, i ddod i adnabod ei gilydd yn well. Trwy ddeall daw cyfeillgarwch, ac yn ei dro daw cydweithrediad o gyfeillgarwch. Cynhyrchwn ddau gylchllythyr yn flynyddol sy’n galluog Cyfeillion Lesotho ddeall pa mor bwysig yw eu cefnogaeth. |
Dolen Cymru prides itself in not being an aid organisation for Lesotho, as we strongly believe that friendship is important, between two countries, in order to achieve an understanding of each other’s needs and aspirations. Through our twice annual newsletters our Friends get the chance to see just how important their support is. |

However, in 1997 Dolen Cymru were awarded a grant for 3 years by the National Lottery Charities Board, to run a health and education project in Lesotho, which focuses on equipping teachers in Lesotho with skills to create their own resource materials using the workshop method of training. Trainers of Village Health Workers are also being trained to create their own training resource book, to help identify early symptoms of mental health in the rural areas of Lesotho. |

When you become a Friend of Lesotho not only are you supporting the work of a Wales-based charity set up in 1985 to foster linking activities of frirendship and understanding between Wales and Lesotho, you will also receive a twice yearly newsletter on Dolen’s work and an invitation to attend the annual AGM |
